2. Requests you may make
Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may request:
- Confirmation of whether the club holds personal information about you.
- Access to personal information held about you.
- Correction of inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or outdated information.
- Deletion or destruction where the club is no longer authorised to keep the information.
- Objection to certain processing.
- Withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis for processing.
3. What to include
Provide your full name, contact details, the nature of the request, enough information to locate the relevant record and suitable proof of identity. Do not send identity documents through an insecure public form. The club may request secure verification before releasing or changing information.
4. Limits and legal retention
A request may be limited where another person’s rights, legal privilege, safeguarding duties, contractual obligations, league rules or a lawful retention requirement applies. We will explain the reason where the law permits.
5. Official forms
The Information Regulator provides forms for objection, correction and deletion. These can be found on the official POPIA forms page.
6. Complaints
Please contact the club first so that we can try to resolve the concern. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator using its official complaints process.
